Community Hub

Update on the development of our new Lister Park Community Hub

Exiting times…

Oasis Community Learning have agreed to refurbish the Lister Park Community hub, to create direct access from the side of the Academy and create and open accessible Hub with a range of facilities that can be developed for the community.

We will be a Food savers Hub offering food support and will have a new kitchen which will enable a great range of activities.

Bradford Youth Service are staring a Youth Club at the Hub in January; details coming soon.

Bradford Credit union are partners with us as are a range of charity and advice and support projects who are keen to use the local Hub we will have to work in the locality.

Health and other local services are keen to work from the hub to get services closer to the community as is the Bradford West Local Family Hub

Local community Groups will be meeting in the Hub.

As Hub leader I am submitting bids for grant funding to develop Youth work and Community support using the Hub space.

We hope to be open with our new facilities around Easter 2025

Your ideas are vital!

We are currently consulting on what people would like to see happen in the Hub along with partners like Bradford College who are keen to offer community learning opportunities here at the Hub

Mikuláš at Oasis Lister Park

On Friday 6th December we were proud to host Mikuláš celebration with the Bradford Roma Community again with Connecting Roma CIC.

Our Hub leader got into the robes to ensure the event went well, much fun was had as families gathered to celebrate a key event in the year for Roma families. Music was from the Ramano Lads.

We offer opportunities for extended learning beyond the core Academy day. Our extended provision through our Hub team is at the centre of our community work. The team deliver a wide range of services which engage public, voluntary and business sectors in the establishment of a centre of education and lifelong learning. We aspire for the Academy to be at the heart of our local community, recognised by others for our clear understanding and support of local issues and awareness of community needs.

At Oasis we recognise that people are not two-dimensional beings; we are each a whole person with a broad range of aspirations and needs and these needs are interconnected. To truly help someone with their educational needs, it is vital to also be aware of their emotional needs, spiritual needs and economic needs.

As such, we believe in communities that are holistic, interconnected and totally inclusive. We call our model for these communities ‘Hub.’ Watch the video above to learn more about our vision for hub.
